Count it all joy... James cautions us not to discard experiences that may cause us heartache and stress, for even they should be counted "joy." I do not understand this value system for experiences that I would prefer never to have encountered. I do not know how to "count it all joy." I do know that I have confidence in the instructions found in the Word of God. I am enrolled in His course of study, and I am "Learning To Count." also go to http://haliburtonlearningtocount.blogspot.com/

Native Wacoan, Francene Haliburton-Francis has created a literary work that blends prose and poetry to tell one woman's story about how she views the influence of the evolution of race in her life's journey. As issues of faith, family and race relations increasingly impact the political climate in the United States, the book will prove to be a great resource among book study groups that are eager to find common ground.

Dr. Francis believes that her perceptions of the experiences in her African American home shares insight into race relations during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and 1970s different than those perceptions of her white peers. On the contrary, Dr. Francis believes that her perspectives of experiencing the highs and lows of family life and the development of her Christian faith is comparable with the perspectives of her white peers. She appreciates the safe haven of her home - the place of her development.
Educated in, first segregated and later integrated, Waco public schools, Dr. Francis retired from the Waco Independent School District after serving 34 years as a teacher and administrator. She attempts to inspire young people whose stories are similar to her own. She encourages them to hope for and to work now towards a brighter future in their adult lives, Better is possible.
